Paint Care
Surface Contamination
Before any polishing can occur, the clear coat must be critically assessed. Industrial fallout, rail dust, tree sap, and road tar bond to the paint over time. These contaminants require chemical and mechanical removal processes to restore a smooth surface.
Oxidation and Light Defects
UV exposure and improper washing techniques introduce micro-marring, commonly referred to as swirl marks. These defects scatter light, causing the paint to appear dull. Machine polishing can help refine the surface by leveling the clear coat.
Limitations of Correction
We strictly emphasize that not all defects can be corrected. Deep scratches that have breached the clear coat cannot be polished out safely. The appropriate treatment depends heavily on an in-person inspection and paint depth measurements.
Vehicle Age and Paint Condition
Older vehicles or those with compromised clear coats require a delicate approach. Sometimes, minor enhancement is preferred over heavy correction to preserve the remaining clear coat integrity.
