Ceramic Protection
Understanding Ceramic Coatings
Ceramic coatings are advanced liquid polymers that chemically bond with a vehicle's factory clear coat. Rather than sitting on top like a traditional wax, they create a semi-permanent, hydrophobic layer designed to offer enhanced resistance to environmental contaminants.
Preparation Concept
The application of a ceramic coating is only as effective as the preparation beneath it. Applying a coating over unrefined or contaminated paint traps those defects permanently. Comprehensive decontamination and machine polishing are standard prerequisites.
Application & Curing
Coatings must be applied in controlled environments, managing humidity and temperature. Once applied, they require a specific curing window where the vehicle should not be exposed to water or chemicals.
Durability Variables
We do not describe any coating as "permanent". Durability is highly subjective and depends on:
- Annual mileage and driving conditions
- Storage (garage vs. outdoor parking)
- Environmental exposure (UV, industrial fallout, road salt)
- Washing routines (frequency and chemical pH)
Maintenance Requirements
A coated vehicle is not maintenance-free. Regular washing with pH-neutral or specifically formulated maintenance shampoos is necessary to keep the hydrophobic pores unclogged. Failure to maintain the surface may result in diminished performance.
